There weren't many dealers or bike shops in the country, so motor cycle
enthusiasts had to be pretty creative if any part broke. The invention of
the bikini had yet to be discovered and the population of Myrtle Beach in 1940
was only 1,597 people. These days, Myrtle Beach Bike Week is a national
event drawing over 300,000 people per year.
